WELL HELLO FAMILY!!!! :) i am
sending this email all the way from the other side of the mission! yep! thats
right, i had changes again!! :) i am now in Malacatán :) it is super far away
from everything in the mission lol but is close to mexico haha
my new area is so beautiful! its
kinda close to the mountains but still really hot lol there are a TON of huge
hills and mountains here!! and we hike up them everyday! the chapel sit right
at the top of this huge hill...and to get to it we have to walk up the hill!!
so needless to say my legs are going to be huge after this area!!! whoooo!!!!!
hahaha my companion is hermana mendoza! she is from Mexico and is adorable!!!!
:) she has just over 3 months in the mission!! so we are both super new, which
is a little intimidating..but also really fun!!! :) i am still learning the
area, but i already love it!!! i am gonna take lots of pics of this area (bc i
didnt in mazate... lol) i do miss mazate and all the people i met there..but
that is the mission and right now i am needed in malacatan!!! :)
well this week was good! we had some
really cool lessons this week and even have some fechas for baptism! :) but one
experience that stood out to me was on friday! we went to the school by our
house called "The Benson" and we taught about the church! the guy who
is in charge of this school is a member and he asked us to come! well we went
into this classroom and gave them pamphlets and started teaching about the restoration!
(this day it was just girls so that was even cooler :P) at first it was really
weird! and i was like, "what in the world are we doing!?" but after
like 5 minutes we had a great time! it was so strange bc all of these girls
(there were like 10 in this classroom with us) were from different religions!
but we were able to teach them about the restoration and i seriously felt the
spirit so strong! and afterwards we asked them if we could visit them in their
houses and they said yes! we got a dirrection or a phone number from every one!
(some werent super interested in hearing more, but like 3 of them were!!!!!) it
was amazing to see how the spirit can testify to people in such a short amount
of time!!!! :)
also this week i was studying in
Alma 32! and i found some scriptures that i really liked and that i learned a
lot from and just wanted to share them with you all :)
Alma 32:22
And now, behold, I say
unto you, and I would that ye should remember, that God
is merciful unto all who believe on his name; therefore he
desireth, in the first place, that ye should believe, yea, even on his word.
Alma 32:27
But behold, if ye will
awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words,
and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more
than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even
until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words
Alma 32:33
And now, behold,
because ye have tried the experiment, and planted the seed, and it
swelleth and sprouteth, and beginneth to grow, ye must needs know that
the seed is good.
i love these scriptures bc it says
that we even just have a desire to believe, thats enough for now! until we can
say that we know!!! but it also says that that knowledge wont come until we
experiment upon the words!!!! so that is my challenge to you to experiment on
the words of the gospel! to pray every morning and night and to read you
scriptures!!!! i promise you that if you do these things you will come to know
that the seed is good!!! and you will receive so many
blessings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
