hello family!!!!!!!!!
9 I know that which the Lord hath commanded me,
and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that
which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may
be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this
is my joy.
i love this scripture!!! :) i really
am so blessed to be able to be an instrument in the hands of the lord!!!!! :)))
i am gonna tell 3 stories today!!! :) (1 for every baptism!)
story #1: Carmen
Carmen is a young girl who lives in
our area! she is super pilas and takes her book of mormon to school to read!
she is "a perfect investigator" has no problems with anything and
keeps her commitments! she goes to seminary and everything! well saturday came
and it was time for her baptism! she got her clothes and we took pics and had
the whole service perfect..she entered the water and was baptized..only she
forgot to plug her nose and drank about half of the pila of water!!!!!!!! and
she freaked out and didnt go under all the way..not complete! she basically ran
out of the pila and didnt want to do it again! well after about 5 min of
talking to her, she got back in and we tried it again! this time she plugged
her nose...but one of the witnesses said her head didnt go completely under and
had to do it again! (when he told us this she was already half way to the
bathroom ready to chagne bc she was so cold and scared...) she refused to be
baptized again!!!! we stood outside of the pila for 20 minutes trying to talk
to her and help her! but she was not budging...finally one of the bishops who
was there came and decided to give her a blessing! they gave her a blessing
that her fear would leave that she could be baptized without problems! after
that they practiced for like 5 mintues how to do the baptism so that she would
go completely under and everything would be great! well, she got in the pila
again...and WAS BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!! :)))) afterwards..she RAN out of pila and
into the bathroom to change haha after that everything was great! she was so
happy and was confirmed the next day! she said that when they put their hands
on her head to confirm her taht she "felt something change in her, and
that she just felt so calm!"
lessons i learned from this
expèrience: 1, satan works hard on people. 2, THE POWER OF THE LORD IS STRONGER
THAN THAT OF SATAN!!!!! 3, plug your nose.. lol
story #2: Marvin
we contacted marvin in a tuctuc and
taught him and he accepted to be baptized..only it was really hard to find him
since that day! bc he never came to the citas! on friday we had an interview
scheduled at 5 and he came at 6:30... well everything went well and we were
told he could get baptized..after MUCH work and stress saturday came and he was
late again... the baptism was at 5 he came at 6..but he was baptized!
everything was great...until sunday!! our church starts at 2 pm..and they have
to be confirmed in a sacrament meeting! well mister marving sanchez didnt show
up until 3:30...he came with everythig (all of his books for church and stayed
the last 2 hours..) but wasnt confirmed! so this next sunday hopefully he will
come early and can be confirmed!!!
lessons i learned: BE ON TIME!
lol
sotry #3: Odair
he is a member of the familia
marroquin! 3 of his siblings are already members! we have been working with
them since i came to mazate!!! and we were really close to dropping them!!! but
on tuesday we went and had a lesson and he told us that he wanted to be
baptized this weekend!! he had his asistances so we planned the baptism! we got
his clothes and everything! and his family came to his baptism! he was baptized
and confirmed this weekend!!!! :))))) we were just a little nervous he wouldnt
get confirmed bc he came like 3 mintues before the sacrament... hha but
everything went well adn he was there!!! :)
Lesson learned: dont give up
hope..the lord has a timing for everything!!!
this week was hard! we saw how tough
the mission life is! we saw just how important having good leaders is and how
hard it is to have leaders in the ward who dont help! we saw how much satan
tries to destroy the plan of the lord! BUT we also saw how perfect the plan of
the lord is! we saw how much help we receive from the lord! we saw miracles
this week!!!!!! he never said it would be easy, just that it would be worth it!
the life of the savior wasnt easy, and he suffered WAY more than we do! but we
have to pass through certain trials to become the people he needs us to be!!!
please remember that!!
idk if you guys learned anything
from this letter or if it was just a bunch of scrammbled letters...but
hopefully you did :) i love you all so much and i know that this work is the
work of the lord!!! please do all you can to prepare yourselves for the
blessings he has for us!!!! :)))
con mucho amor,
Hermana Canty
ps: a quote i heard in church this
week:
"the
distance from us and heaven is the distance from our knees to the floor"
